This Residential Aged Care 1 Day workshop is delivered live, face-to-face, giving you a practical, results-focused overview of residential aged care advice so you can confidently support clients at the pointy end of aged care decisions. Across the day you will work through case studies, worked calculations and facilitated discussion to turn complex rules into clear, actionable advice conversations.

While many people do not plan to move into residential aged care, the reality is that a significant proportion of men and women who reach age 65 will require residential care at some point in their lives. In a single day, you will unpack the key financial drivers, stakeholders and means-testing arrangements that shape real client outcomes in this rapidly changing market.

The workshop will be held in the Sydney CBD, however we’re still finalising the details, so book now to secure your spot — we will let you know the venue details once they are locked in.

At the end of the day, participants will be able to:

✅ Understand and explain the means assessment (assets and income), including how these tests work and how they drive aged care fees, cash flow and entitlements.

✅ Break down the costs of residential aged care into clear components, and show clients how different choices affect what they pay.

✅ Navigate how the “old” and “new” rules operate through the 2025 reforms (including grandfathering), and explain how this impacts existing and new clients.

✅ Model and forecast the cost of residential aged care with confidence, using case-based examples to compare strategies and outcomes.

✅ Communicate complex aged care concepts simply and confidently, build trust with clients and families, and engage effectively with other stakeholders such as facilities, accountants and lawyers.

The workshop is conducted in person, creating a highly interactive environment where you can ask questions in real time, collaborate on problem-solving and test your thinking with experienced facilitators. Participants receive a workshop booklet and technical materials to support ongoing advice work, complete a short assessment after the workshop, and may be eligible for CPD hours on successful completion.
